SINGING BOWL RESEARCH SERIES
starts in 2010

The soundscapes of this series are a "by-product" of our research on the sound of singing bowls (also known as "Tibetan", or simply - sound bowls). Due to rather non-linear characteristics of their sounds, the instruments of this type are difficult to study mathematically or one-unit-based. Although they are simple generators of sound composites, similar to those that can be produced on the a computer, in the case of a complex solutions, it is a bit more complicated. Sound of the singing bowl is not a sound that creates the sonic space, but it is rather a disturbance within the existing space, an anomaly that produces that sound. Unusual situations require unusual methods. Such a "method" in this case - is the creation of a complex acoustic spaces and testing them as a whole. About the positive impact of the singing bowls (and other sound/vibrational technologies) on health, psycho-emotional condition and awareness - you'll find in internet via google.

Glossary:

• R/Q (Randomization/Quantization). Randomization is a way of more or less random positioning of the sound samples within the composition. Quantization is a method of atuning these samples with each other, to achieve a specific sound properties of this multilayer complex. R/Q is made according to pattern, for example "mathematical formula", "external signal" (like noise or a sound sample), manually "based on the human consciousness coherence", etc.
• R-BPM: average random beats per minute; compositions have no regular rhythm, but it is possible to calculate the average density of individual sound field activations.
• i-ratio, s-ratio: if the compositions consists a different types of patterns (samples), these parameters specify the ratios between them, in terms of the whole time-lenght ratio (s-ratio) and activation counter ratio (i-ratio).
• ADR: average density ratio. Ratio of the whole time-lenght of the individual samples to the composition time-lenght (has nothing to do with RMS or similar acoustic things), and it tells about the presence of variety of vibrations.

This small dictionary presents some basic concepts for SBRS series; they are rather experimental and give a holistic view of the what you deal with while listening experience.

STAGE 2: RAINFALL OF THE SINGING BOWLS

The composition consists of a set of nearly 100 different singing bowls, ZEN (Z) and ASSAM (A) type (which are available by Peter Hess); these are designed to promote the meditation and support the sound massage and therapy. The singing bowls have different type of sound and vibration, but the range of applications remains similar.

The recording goes in contemplative/meditative direction (towards concentration), without further expectations. But this is not the typical sound bath; rather experimental session. Note: by the relatively low volume, after a while of listening - the hearing will sharpen and adjust accordingly, capturing the full depth of the sound space, so don't force your self to play too loudly (the effect will not disappear).

STAGE 1: SEA OF THE SINGING BOWLS

The composition consists of a collection of about 160 different singing bowls from Peter Hess (series designed to sound massage and therapy). You will hear here "abdominal" bowls (B), "joint" or "universal" bowls (U),"heart" bowls (S) type 1 or "large" (SD) and type 2 or "small" (SM). In the sound massage and therapy, every type of bowl - has a different kind of vibrations and covers slightly different range of applications.

The recording is a purely relaxing, without further directions. Listening to - you may feel like within a group "sound bath", created by the participants of such meeting. Note: because it is a "reusable" piece of music (and not a unique live session), then at various volume levels, and during a separate sessions - you can have a very different listening experience; because of the nonlinear characteristics of these sounds (plus the hearing curve and environmental factors) - this is an illusion similar to the optical so-called "hybrid images" (content of which - depends on the distance of vision).

JOURNEYS OUT OF THE BODY, VOL. 1: FAR JOURNEYS, 2010

CATHEDRAL VISION - overtone singing, 2009

Cathedral Vision is a free improvisation performed with the overtone singing (vocal technique, known also as "harmonic singing" - more information via google). Although it may sometimes be hard to believe, in the recording there is no other sounds, but only human and unprocessed, natural sounding voice. It is believed that the voice is one of the most powerful musical instruments. Overtone singing is an example of this extraordinary power. In many indigenous cultures of the world, overtone singing is considered to be the "language of gods." Perhaps there is something in such concept. Thanks to its characteristics, overtone soundspace make the person more complete, because the heart opens in a serene joy, and in the field of vision the light appears. Heart, body and mind become one, and this is the moment when spirituality becomes a reality. By attuning to its melody, you can experience the overtone singing even deeper. With the intonation that includes a Solfeggio frequency (396Hz), deep space of this recording promotes not only meditation but also emotional healing, release from the unconscious sense of guilt. Hint: it may happen that during or after listening - you'll see a glow in shades of purple or indigo. It is a natural phenomenon (synesthesia), which you can use for your own needs (for example work with the chakras and aura vision).

SHAPES OF SPACE, 2009

"When we listened to this album, we couldn't believe, that these sounds came from a gong, that was recorded just few moments ago" - say those, who were by the production of this album. When others listen to this CD - they can't believe, that these are natural sounds of living instrument, without any synthetic sound effects. In these recordings, you will find deep meditative soundscapes, supportive to healing related processes and very good to work with vocal work (spiritual experiences, related to out-of-body states, inner communication or incarnative encounters - here are in the standard). This is also a uniqie record of something, that with a gong - probably was never done before. A little bit of singing bowls - emphasises richly tuned colours of shapes of this extraordinary space, providing a majestic and touching tone. Note: it is possible, that you will hear here certain sounds, that are not present physically on this CD (they are an illusion created by your brain, on its way to find some familiar melodies and patterns).

HEART OF GOD, 2009

Pulsar is a unique type of phenomenon. Heart of such star has been opened, and the star holds together thanks to its own magnetism. Pulsars are the clocks of cosmic synchronization, like a nervous system of the universe. In their inner, laws of physics are different. One of such pulsars, known as M1 or NGC 1952, is located not far away, in the Crab Nebula, in the Orion system (Taurus constellation). About 6300 light years from Earth, it was born as a result of supernova explosion (novas are also the source of many elements of life), and its birth was noted in 1054 by Chinese and Arab astronomers. Melody of this pulsar is the one of the most unique. Signal from the radiotelescope, converted to a sound, and slowered by a few octaves - sounds like a human heart, beating in a very typical rhythm. In the cosmic scale, such star signal, can coordinate the expansion of life and consciousness of the whole solar systems in the region. Probably therefore, this Nebula could be named the "Heart of God". Discover what message carries with it - the song of heavenly heart, and allow your self to be moved by a soothing tones of singing bowls and sounds of cosmic gong. As the words of certain meditation would say - "Let the love, truth, beauty, faith, harmony, peace and the divine particle - be expressed to the universe. Let the guardian angel takes you to the home, to the Heart of God".

GONGS IN SPACE, 2009

"When I close my eyes, and listen, I have an impression that some sort of energy flows out from the Earth Core, and a moment later - I'm somewhere in a distant Space; in the near something is happening, some large objects or clusters of energy or consciousness..." - it is amazing, but these are the reports of many people, who listen to the "Space Journey" track. This recording carries with it a real thrill of emotion, like the one experienced by the cloud-kissing surfers. The second track brings peace and relief, typical to visions of far away cosmic space, somewhere between galaxies. Although these majestic recordings were created solely using gongs, this time - for some reason, the gongs spoke in a way, which until now has been known only from the unique sound records, coming from the NASA exploratory space probes. If you are looking for something for 'out of the body travelling' (OBE), this album is exactly for you. Prepare to an authentic encounter with the Unknown. EXPLORERS' JOURNEY SERIES

Explorers' Journey Series is a unique musical journey, created in a technology called Conscious Sound. Conscious Sound is a method that allows to tune the states of consciousness into a specific configurations of feeling (like the "luminous joy" or "opening the heart" or "moving beyond the self"), on the level of cell languages, which operates the nervous system. Thanks to the innovative solutions, it was possible to obtain a very relaxing and soothing sound recordings. Many people say that within a few minutes - they can achieve what it usually takes them 4-5 times more time.

Conscious Sound naturally leads into the states of deep relaxation, supportive to the releasing of blockages and tensions, both physical, mental and emotional. Thus, it facilitates a better touch with different levels of self (such as contact with the body, with the subconscious, with the inner child, and so on). If you allow your imagination and impressions - to flow freely on the wave of resonance with the sound space that surrounds you, you can experience many extraordinary inner journeys, mystical experiences, the healing process, or the contact with aspects of a Greater Wholeness. Conscious sound is characterized by its effectiveness. Sound is a wave of vibration that penetrates other vibrations on its way, introducing colors and shades, shapes and patterns, life and light, dynamics and movement, energy and information. Quick relaxation and release of accumulated tensions or effective stress management - in today's fast-moving times, seem to be something desirable. Explorers Journey will even apply to the soundmassage with the use of conventional audio speakers. Musical soundscapes of each track individually or in combination - can be used as a background for the verbal guidance or as a fasis for a self-meditation and self-exploration. Part 1 is ideal for sleep and it not interferes with migraines. Part 2 was recorded in the A@432Hz tuning system, so the sound became even more alive (more information about the 432Hz tuning can be find on the internet); it is perfectly suited for inner discoveries and distant consciousness journeys.

You can listen to each album "as it is", but because each track is a separate musical theme, a good solution is to loop selected pieces. If the album is too intense to listen as whole, work with individual songs or with any combination of them. Excellent extension of this series is also a set of meditative recordings Happy Bobbles - The Soundscape series, dedicated to the book Happy Bobbles - Meetings with the Friend.

Note: Sometimes the auditory perception needs several minutes to fully adjust to the Conscious Sound, before it picks up the richness of its inner pattern structure.

"Trippers" are the sound trips, inspired by the findings and discoveries, that the traveller - following the adventure and curiosity - can encounter on his path. Sometimes this is a sound, sometimes a melody or rhythm. Pieces of the vision and dreams that once someone has created and left, so that later - someone else can find them, combining them in a beautiful whole. Move into a journey, that leads with the paths of landscapes of imagination, and what will bring the tomorrow.

These recordings are the expression of three Chinesee gongs: wind-gongs (Fen) 70 and 55 cm in diameter, and royal Chau gong (TamTam) 70 cm in diameter. The sound space of these recordings, it supporta spontaneous imagery on the edge between concsious and dreaming, and it allows to penetrate more deeply your own emotional intelligence.

This album emerged from several hours of searching among large collection of wind gongs (Fen) and royal gongs (Chau or TamTam). Abundance of sounds present in the album, will allow the listener to take many various directions of exploration. Sound of the Fen Gong isl for the mind like a cleansing waterfall for the physical body. Sound of the TamTam is like a subtilely weaved carpet, that enriches the content of mental journey on the emotional level. Sound journeys are a way to explore your own self, and at the same time they can be the path to obtain inner harmony.

ON THE WINGS OF THE WINDGONG, 2006

Tracks from this album are the result of experimenting with the Chinese wind gong (Fen), a small instrument (just 55cm in diameter) with a wide-ranging possibilities. Obtaining a large depth of the sound space, despite the recording process (which usually "flattens" the sound), is possible by appropriate recording techniques. Recordings like these, they support spontaneous imagery on the borderline between conscious and asleep, which sometimes may even lead to an OBE state (out of the body).

IN THE HARMONY OF THE SOUND BOWLS FROM NEPAL, 2006

Typical singing bowls will give only a scrap of what can be achieved by therapeutic sound bowls produced in Nepal (Peter Hess). The first piece is a reconstruction of sound massage session. Other ones were created as a result of the search for sound spaces, causing rapid switch off of the internal dialogue, and introducing there expanded inner space and enhanced attentiveness. Such sound baths support the entry into the states of deep relaxation and meditation.
